Starting July 2026, children who are four years old by September 1, 2026 can take part in Get Kids Ready - a free 4K program that runs the full calendar year. Children get a solid foundation for kindergarten in a nurturing environment, with no bus rides or tricky transportation schedules.
Intentional education is available before and after 4K programming, delivered by early childhood educators with smaller class sizes and inclusive, developmentally appropriate spaces. Educators focus on academic, physical, social-emotional, self-help, and communication and cognition skills. The State of Wisconsin pays childcare educators for the time your child spends in Get Kids Ready, making that part of the day free for families. Spaces are limited.
